Feeding Evaluation & Treatment
(0-6 months)
​The 2 hour evaluation includes a thorough medical history, developmental screening, and hands on examination addressing:

Oral-motor/sensory issues affecting functional feeding, including any anatomic, muscular & tethered oral restrictions affecting the smooth coordination of swallowing

Safety of swallowing with breastfeeding or bottle feeding

Develop strategies to support safe feeding for both baby and caregivers including: swallowing, lip closure and babbling

Pre-post weight check for breastfeeding

Address bottle nipple flow rate, positioning, paced feeding, and external oral support

Assess for breast and bottle feeding aversion

Oral motor excercises to develop strength and control needed for feeding

Collaboration with other professionals to coordinate a comprehensive feeing program that promotes appropriate weight gain and fosters a positive feeding experience

What insurance companies do you accept?
I accept and bill most insurance companies. Private pay is accepted and a (superbill) will be provided upon request.
What states are you licensed in?
Do I need a referral for Occupational Therapy?
What is your follow up procedure?
I am Board Certified and licensed in the state of Washington.
Occupational Therapy does not require a physician's referral, however, the primary care physician needs to be a primary member of the feeding team to assure coordination of care. Some insurance require a referral. Always check with your insurance company first.
After the 2 hour evaluation, a follow-up phone call will be scheduled within 7-10 days to review your progress. Additional appointments will then be arranged to update the home program and conduct further assessments as required.
